When 90 Degrees is Good...and Doesn't melt snow!

Torso Rotation in the Backswing!
Is your Torso Rotation at 90 degrees?  If not then you are limiting the amount of potential power you could have in every swing.  Like we have stated before, your hips are your initial power source, then your core.

Many golfers are loosing way to much flexibility in their torso due to sedentary lifestyles and lack of a consistent stretching routine.  What happens when the weekend comes around...you cant wait to get out and play.  But the muscles of your upper body torso...abdominals, obliques and erectors of the low back are not getting stretched out and conditioned to handle the demands of a good golf swing.

What to do...Lay a club across your your shoulders and while keeping your best GOLF POSTURE, rotate back into the backswing to top position and hold.  Feel the stretch and hold.  Did the club move 90 degrees in relation to your setup position?  To create even more of a stretch, try to keep your front heel on the ground.  Move back into your setup position and repeat up to 18 times.  By the time you get to the end of this exercise, you should have more range of motion.  90 degrees is the goal!

Get those muscles ready for the SPRING SWING!  Give us a call if you are ready to get your body conditioned for BETTER GOLF and Fitness in 2011!
